Though much of the rest of North America may be a little way behind, Spring comes early to Florida and it doesn’t take long for temperatures to rise, both the air and the sea. If you come from one of the Northern United States then, or from Canada, a trip down to Daytona Beach is a great way to get the warmth back into you after a cold winter and a good way to make a start on your summer tan.

Whether you go for a spring vacation to Daytona Beach during the spring break if you have children in school or go beforehand, either alone, with a partner or with friends, you will find plenty for everyone to do in Daytona Beach, not least Daytona Beach Fishing.

For many people indeed the fact that there is so much for the rest of the family to do is ideal so they can keep busy while you take a Daytona Beach fishing trip out on to the ocean on a charter vessel.

February and March are perhaps the best times to go Daytona Beach fishing in fact, Mackerel, King fish, Sea Trout, Cobia and more are all plentiful around these times.  In March and into April larger fish such as Mahi Mahi and Wahoo start to move into Florida’s waters and Marlin as well can be found further out passing through the vicinity.

Daytona Beach fishing is possible off of the beach and piers as well of course, perhaps better if you want to spend more time with your family and they want to relax on the beach. The beaches in Florida round Daytona Beach have beautiful fine white sand, ideal for sunbathing on all day or for younger children to play upon. On the outskirts of the city it can be very quiet on the beaches during the Spring, especially prior to Spring break, closer to downtown Daytona though there is a lot more to see and do all year round. There is the boardwalk area of the city with its amusements and rides right by the beach, you can easily spend a day or two here enjoying the attractions.

A little way out from the center of Daytona Beach is the Daytona International speedway, home of Nascar there are various events all year round but you may of course want to time your visit to Daytona Beach so you can enjoy the iconic Daytona 500, this is usually in mid to late February.

Daytona’s motorsport heritage goes back to long before the Daytona International Speedway was built however, races were originally on the beach and Daytona is still one of the few places you can legally drive on the beach: if you want to try out this unique experience though you of course need to come in the low season so February or March are ideal; you could try a bit of fishing from your vehicle if it is colder day even but watch out for the tide.
